About Cheryl

For the last twenty-five years, I’ve dedicated my life and work to the practice of self-care because it’s good for people and it’s good for the planet. From personal experience, as well as coaching a diverse group of leaders, I’ve come to understand that when we care deeply for ourselves, we naturally begin to care for others – our families, our friends, the environment, and the whole world – in a healthier and more effective way.

As a professional coach, I’ve written several books including the New York Times bestsellers Take Time for Your Life and Life Makeovers, and more recently, Waking Up in Winter: In Search of What Really Matters in Midlife as well as an audiobook called Self Care for the Wisdom Years. You can read about all of my books here.

While I live a quieter life with my husband, Michael Gerrish, and our two cats, Berty and Wednesday, my work has been covered widely in the media, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, The New York Times, USA Today, and People Magazine. I also served as the team leader for the Lifestyle Makeover series on The Oprah Winfrey Show and traveled and taught with Oprah on her Live Your Best Life tour.

Today, as an extension of my personal self-care practice, I commit my time, energy, and money to people and causes that protect the environment, wildlife, and those in need of advocacy. I belong to Launchpad Venture Group, one of the most active angel investment networks in the US. As a member, I’ve invested in over twenty start-up companies that are developing technologies in the areas of education, clean energy, healthcare, and life sciences.

To support you in your own self-care practice, I offer a free, weekly blog that shares personal stories, resources, invitations to virtual gatherings, and helpful advice. You can subscribe here. I have an extensive archive of blogs covering a wide range of life topics. You can search for topics here. You can also listen to past Zoom gatherings about Exploring the Wisdom Years here.

Thank you for joining me in making the world a more sustainable and loving place. If there’s something you need, please send an email to cheryl@cherylrichardson.com and I’ll do my best to help.
