Topic of the Week Never Say Never Last Friday night I went to the movies by myself (something I love to do) and saw the Justin Bieber film, Never Say Never. A good friend who thought I might find it an interesting study in the making of a Mover & Shaker recommended the movie to me. I’m so glad she did!
The movie documents the building of Bieber’s career and the ways in which he and his team have systematically built an audience of fans who not only adore his music, but also love him dearly. Bieber is a talented singer and musician, a well-rounded young man, and a powerful community builder. The movie is a fun ride from beginning to end and if you’re someone who’s interested in building an international platform, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from a master. Bieber and his team know how to touch people in that rare and wonderful way. And, like a true Mover & Shaker, his message to kids is empowering and sincere: never give up on your dreams. As I walked out of the movie theater I felt inspired and thoroughly entertained. Who would have thought I’d learn so much from a seventeen year-old boy? And ultimately that’s the point: we’re never too old to learn and never too young to teach. Now, off to download some Justin Bieber songs…. #x1F600; |
