Week 25 – What’s in your wallet?

One night last week I had a vivid dream that my pocketbook was stolen at a party. It was a business event held in a public building and when I entered the space I placed the bag on a sofa and went to get a drink. Not five minutes later, when I returned to the sofa, the pocketbook was gone.

I couldn’t believe I was foolish enough to leave the bag unattended. I searched everywhere and when it was obvious that someone had picked it up, I also started beating myself up for not updating the list I keep in my office of everything I have in my wallet.

When I woke up, I was so relieved to know it was a dream and I instantly knew two things:

Number 1: I need to be nicer to myself (I was so mean during the dream).


Number 2: It was time to update the list of what’s in my wallet.

So I did it first thing and decided I’d remind you to do it, too.

It takes ten minutes and, should you lose your bag or wallet, you’ll have a little peace of mind when you need it most.

So, if you can, stop right now and take out your wallet. Then, on a piece of paper, list your credit cards along with the company phone numbers so you can call quickly should your cards be lost or stolen.

Also, write down any health insurance info (I also put this in the contacts on my phone because it doesn’t need to be secure), and be sure to list anything else you carry with you – store cards, AAA, ATM, etc.

Then, reach your right hand over your left shoulder and pat yourself on the back.

I have no doubt that someone who reads this blog will be so happy they made their list.

I just hope it’s not you smiley2#x1F600;.
