Week 6 – Clean Up Week: Make space for something great

Greetings!

Join me for our first Writer’s Workshop of the year in sunny Los Angeles on February 25th & 26th.  Learn what it takes to write a book, self publish, attract a major publisher, and build an audience for your work.  Save yourself time, money, and a lot of aggravation by attending this program where you’ll learn what works and what doesn’t in the world of publishing.  You can find it here.

I’m live on the radio this week (2/6 at 5pm ET/2pm PT) and you can listen by visiting HayHouseRadio.com. You can also call for laser coaching at (866) 254-1579.

Have a wonderful week!

Love,

Cheryl

Topic of the Week

Clean Up Week

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve sent out a “clean up week” newsletter encouraging you to do a little housekeeping.  I used to do this at least twice a year.  So, this week, it’s time to make a space, enjoy some “visual clarity,” and inspire new growth in your life.

Here are a few things you can do:

1. Recycle – Go through old magazines, books, or catalogs and get rid of them. Bring the magazines to a doctor’s office, hair salon, or health club. Donate books to your local library or to an organization that needs money.  There are plenty of places that take used books. For example, we have gotbooks.com here in Massachusetts and they’ll come pick books up (I gave away 40 boxes before I left for Australia and it felt terrific!). To find an organization near you, all you need to do is plug “book giveaway + your town + your state” into google for ideas.

2. Trade Treasures – Years ago I would join my girlfriends for a give-away party where we’d bring clothes, jewelry, household items, etc., to trade with one another. Each of us would always find a treasure in someone else’s lot and we made it a fun social gathering to boot! Get together with moms and dads from the neighborhood, coworkers, or use your Life Makeover Group to organize a “Trade Treasures” party.  (Bring something to a Super Bowl gathering ).

3. Donate – Go through clothes or household items with an eye for sharing the wealth with those in need. We all have things that we no longer use that could be life-changing for someone else. Your old suits or dresses could give someone a new outfit for a job interview. Your used washing machine may be a blessing in a family’s life. By the way, we’ve had several community members write to say that when they donate used clothes they put a Self Care, Grace, or Daily Affirmations card in the pocket as a surprise gift for the person who gets it. I love that idea and will be doing it myself.  (You can find the cards here).

4. Release Old Energy – Go through the files in your office or on your computer and let go of outdated resources, information, or old ideas that didn’t go anywhere. I’ve used this strategy for years to release the old energy tied to plans that fell through, goals that lost steam, or dreams that fizzled out because they needed to. Make room for new business, great opportunities, or more creative ideas that make sense for who you are now.

A little clearing goes a long way in making space for something great to enter your life. Consider this week’s “Take Action Challenge” and enjoy a renewed sense of spaciousness and mental freedom!

Take Action Challenge

If there’s something new you’d like to attract – a new job, romance, friends, more money, or clients – you’ll need to let go of the old to make way for the new. Choose one idea from above and work on it this week. Then, watch what shows up!

This week’s video takes a new, more intimate look at the “Occupy” movement.   You can find it here. Thanks, LM!
